Public Notice

To our SJMA community

San José Museum of Art is currently open to the public as a refuge for contemplation and reflection during these trying times.

To address our community’s health concerns of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), SJMA is proactively taking the following steps to ensure the well-being of our visitors:

  • increased custodial services with particular focus on extra cleaning of surfaces;
  • posted placards from the Santa Clara County Health Department, in English, Chinese, Spanish, and Vietnamese, at the entrance and in restrooms instructing visitors on how to minimize the spread of illnesses;
  • providing hand sanitizers at the front desk, in communal areas; and at interpretation areas in exhibitions;
  • canceling or postponing large group gatherings over 1000 individuals per guidelines issued March 9 by the Santa Clara County Health Department starting March 11.

Currently, we are continuing our school tours and in-class programs. For school administrators and teachers who have other questions or concerns about any scheduled school tours or other educational programs offered by SJMA, please email education@sjmusart.org.

We are continuing to monitor the situation and will update our website and social media platforms with any possible cancellations or changes to our program calendar. For questions or concerns, please email info@sjmusart.org.
