Digital Membership Cards

SJMA has gone digital! You can now access your membership card(s) and information about your benefits on your smartphone through the eMembership Card app.

  1. Visit the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store to download the eMembership Card app for full access to your membership cards.

  2. In the eMembership Card app, click on the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner to search for San José Museum of Art. If location access is enabled on your phone, your nearest museums will appear first in the museum list. Click on the San José Museum of Art logo.

  3. Click “Find My Membership Cards” and enter your information.

  4. Verify your membership information and click “Download my cards” to have them available on the app.

  5. Click the "Add to Wallet" button to add your card to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. You’ll now be able to access your cards through the app and your digital wallet when you visit.

If you would like to download your card to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet without downloading the eMembership Card app, please visit this link on your smartphone to access the wallet pass.

Q: How do I access my reciprocal benefits with my digital membership card?
A: Reciprocal benefits can be accessed either through the eMembership Card app or through your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

In eMembership Card app: Select San José Museum of Art. On the San José Museum of Art home screen, click the green button labeled "Membership Benefits." Next, click on the button labeled "Reciprocal Benefits." This page displays the icons of the reciprocal networks that provide admission to SJMA members.

Reciprocal Benefits can also be accessed by clicking on the waffle-shaped menu icon in the upper right corner of the SJMA home screen. The option labeled "Reciprocals" will be fourth in the menu.

In your smartphone Wallet: Click on the three dots on the upper right corner and select "Pass Details." Reciprocal networks will be listed at the top.

Q: I'm getting a notification that says San José Museum of Art with the Museum's address. How do I turn off the notification in my Apple Wallet?
A: The geo-location notification shows up when you are within the vicinity of SJMA. To remove, click on the three dots on the upper right-hand corner of your wallet pass. On either Pass Details and Notifications, you can toggle the settings for "Allow Notifications" and "Suggest on Lock Screen" to turn them off.

Q: Why didn't my wallet pass update with my new expiration date?
A: You will need to remove the pass from your wallet and re-download it from the eMembership Card app. To remove, click on the three dots on the upper right hand corner and click "Remove Pass." Then in the eMembership Card app, click "Show My Membership Cards" and then "Add To Wallet."

Q: Can I still get a printed membership card?
A: Printed membership cards are available upon request. Please email membership@sjmusart.org to request your card.
