Bank of America Museums on Us

Bank of America Visitors who present an active Bank of America®, Merrill® (formerly Merrill Lynch®) or Bank of America Private Bank® (formerly U.S. Trust®) branded debit or credit card - physical or electronic/digital card - and a valid photo ID shall receive one free general admission to the Museum on the first full weekend of each month.

Cardholder is required to present their ticket, active credit or debit card and photo ID upon arrival. Additional guests are required to purchase tickets separately. For more information visit about.bankofamerica.com

Free Individual Admission

Individual admission is always free for youth 17 and under, college students, and teachers with valid ID.

Free Admission After 6pm on First Fridays

After 6pm on the first Friday of every month, visitors receive free admission.

Free Days

SJMA is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment to view art, and restricting large groups will help further this goal. Our previous community days which saw record numbers of on-site visitors have been moved online with exciting community partners: El Día de los Muertos (October or November), Lunar New Year (February), and Maker Day (June). American Alliance of Museums

Free admission to American Alliance of Museums members (ally, individual, industry, and museum). Must provide current membership card and valid ID.

Got the Dot

SJMA is participating in Got the Dot, a new community education campaign intended to save lives by promoting organ, eye and tissue donation in partnership with local businesses. Show proof of your organ donor designation (pink dot) on your drivers’ license to receive 20% off adult admission. Blue Star Museums

Blue Star Museums The San José Museum of Art is proud to be one of hundreds of museums nationwide to offer free admission to active military personnel from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. The free admission program is available to active-duty military and their immediate family members (military ID holder and five immediate family members). Active duty military include Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and active duty National Guard and active duty Reserve members. Discover & Go

Discover & Go Discover & Go provides free museum admission to library cardholders at many libraries throughout San José and the Bay Area. To see if your library participates, and to request a free pass for up to four (4) people to SJMA, visit discoverandgo.org

Museums for All

Museum for All Through Museums for All, SJMA is partnering with museums across the country to make sure everyone can experience the best museums have to offer, all for the lowest and most-affordable prices ever. If you have an EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) card, simply show it when you arrive to receive free admission for up to four (4) people. To find other participating museums, visit Museums4All.org

Smithsonian Museum Day

Smithsonian magazine’s annual event provides one free ticket to participating museums on Smithsonian Museum Day on September 17, 2022. Participants are allowed to download one ticket per email address. For information visit smithsonianmag.com/museumday
