Sarah Buckius: The Mother of All Demos

Sarah Buckius’s The Mother of All Demos is a performance that reenacts Honeywell’s 1969 kitchen-computer ad, using a plushy reinvention to explore the intersection of technology, gender, and domestic labor. Through AI-generated instructions and playful irony, the piece spotlights both the limits and lure of automation and the enduring value of women’s work.
