Mosaic Silicon Valley returns to SJMA with Journeys of Love, Loss & Life: San José. Created and performed by Emmy-award winning musician and composer Van-Anh Vo, Journeys of Love, Loss & Life: San José is an instrumental and vocal portrayal of stories inspired by the lives of members of the local Vietnamese, Chicano, and African American communities.

Weaving together a sensory-rich tapestry of music and spoken word, Van-Anh Vo draws on her extensive community research, including interviews with local elders as well as historians. Using first-person narratives as both the foundation and inspiration for her work, Vo has created a performance that explores shared experiences and the common threads that bind us together as a nation.

Composed and directed by Vo, Journeys of Love, Loss & Life: San José also features world-class musicians Jimi Nakagawa, Joshua Mellinger, Mikhael Khalikulov, and sound designer Robin Whitehouse.
