Celebrate the beauty of springtime with an afternoon concert of harp music, presented by the Silicon Valley Youth Harp Ensemble. Prized for their elegant union of form and function, harps date back to ancient Egypt and produce expressive sounds that are soothing and relaxing. Enjoy a selection of season-inspired music as a lovely complement to your museum visit.
SILICON VALLEY YOUTH HARP ENSEMBLE SUCCESS PROGRAM
Sponsored by the Silicon Valley Chapter of the American Harp Society and founded in January 2014, the purpose of the Silicon Valley Youth Harp Ensemble Success Program (also known as Y.E.S.) is to provide a friendly and musically fun social environment that entices students to learn and share together. Playing in a group inspires students to continue their involvement with music. The Y.E.S. Program is designed to provide sequential and practical goals for students to develop performance skills and music appreciation. The curriculum will also help improve technical development such as ear training, sight-reading skills, music theory, and music history. This is an educational program to encourage students to strive for collaboration with one another and musical excellence.
