DIY Art: The Genesis of a Good Comic Book

Saturday, July 9, 2011
1–3 PMFree with Museum Admission

In the beginning, there was R. Crumb, a pioneer who used comic-book art to tell stories of ordinary life. Dan Vado, publisher and editor of Slave Labor Graphics (an independent publisher in San Jose), will give an overview of the medium. Learn the terms and techniques of creating comic-book narratives, and then lay out one of your own and illustrate your everyday adventures. Due to the graphic nature of some exhibition content, parental discretion is advised.
