SJMA Raises $325K at "Full Spectrum" Gala

    SAN JOSE, California (September 27, 2011)—The San Jose Museum of Art’s fundraising gala “Full Spectrum 2011: Let’s Play” raised over $325,000 (gross) on Saturday, September 24. 225 supporters attended the sold-out event, which included a live auction, dinner, and playful performances by burlesque artist Kitten on the Keys, dance troupe Bad Unkl Sista, hula hoop artist Shredder, and DJ Neon Bunny. All proceeds benefit educational programs at the Museum, which encourage creativity and serve more than 37,000 schoolchildren each year. 

    In her remarks, Oshman Executive Director Susan Krane thanked the event committee and all in attendance. “We thank the community of supporters who have made this event—a sell-out!—such a success. My special thanks goes to the generous artists and their representatives who contributed such remarkable artworks for SJMA’s first art-focused auction. We are honored by the participants generosity and belief in the Museum’s public mission. Your support helps make the Museum the leading provider of arts education in Santa Clara County.”
