    SAN JOSE, California (April 10, 2017) — Ten Bay Area poets will read new work inspired by art at the 8th Annual Poetry Invitational at the San Jose Museum of Art on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at 7 PM. Arlene Biala, the poet laureate of Santa Clara County, hosts the evening. In celebration of National Poetry Month, SJMA invites poets to write a poem based on a work on art currently on view at SJMA. Other participating poets will be: Sally Ashton, Tshaka Menelik Imhotep Campbell, Bill Cozzini, Michelle Duong, Suzy Huerta, Pranita Patel, Yaccaira Salvatierra, Jarvis Subia, and Scorpiana Xlynn. Tickets are $5 after and include admission to the Museum from 5 PM to 8:30 PM. Tickets are available online at sjmusart.org.
