SAN JOSÉ, California (May 1, 2018) — Mexican flutist Wilfrido Terrazas will perform at the San José Museum of Art on Sunday, May 13, 3 – 5 PM, as part of “Alta: Flute Music from Mexican Composers in California.” Terrazas will play works composed by Carmina Escobar, Guillermo Galindo, Ivan Naranjo, Mauricio Rodriguez, Pablo Rubio-Vargas, and himself, in a roving performance throughout the museum. Music from works by Terrazas among other composers offers a view of the contemporary Mexican as an immigrant creator in the U.S. The program is free with Museum admission. “Alta: Flute Music from Mexican Composers in California” is presented by Consulado General de México en San José.

Wilfrido Terrazas is a founding member and herald of Mexico City-based improvisation collective Generación Espontánea since 2006.
