SAN JOSE, California (October 31, 2011)— The San Jose Museum of Art’s after-hours series “ArtRage” continues on Thursday, November 17, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Live music will be provided by San Francisco indie pop group TIGERcat. Creative experiences will include a DIY Art station featuring string art and a fun-photo booth with accessories inspired by the exhibitions This Kind of Bird Flies Backward: Paintings by Joan Brown and Bill Owens: Ordinary Folks. Café Too will offer specialty cocktails, beer, wine, and pub food (no-host bar). Admission is $5. Tickets are available at the door or online at artsopolis.com.
TIGERcat is the brainchild of lead singer and co-producer Natasha Adorlee Johnson and co-producer Alan Aronoff, who perform live with drummer Cole Odin Berggen. Their music ranges from indie pop to futuristic synth to electronic-based dance, always with striking vocals by Johnson. They have been featured on Live105 radio, KZSU Stanford Radio, KUSF and KALX. Their latest self-titled EP features five songs including their single "Weighed Down." Their song "All Yours" has been featured on Live105, the Bay Area’s biggest alternative radio station, for “Radio Soundcheck,” a show dedicated to introducing the best new music. TIGERcat’s song "Juice" was featured on Lifetime Television’s hit show Drop Dead Diva in July.
ArtRage is generously sponsored by grants from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the Richard A. Karp charitable Foundation, and the Koret Foundation.
