Lay of the Land: Rodrigo Valenzuela
November 2, 2018–February 17, 2019

Lay of the Land: Rodrigo Valenzuela will explore landscape and labor through video and large scale photo-paintings by Rodrigo Valenzuela, a Los Angeles based photographer, painter, and filmmaker. Valenzuela uses landscapes and autobiographical threads to inform larger themes of alienation and displacement. His images feel simultaneously familiar yet distant. Valenzuela’s work questions the ways in which the formation and experience of each work is situated—how they exist in and out of place.
