About

Scott T. Miller

Scott T. Miller writes songs, plays guitar, and sings, accompanied by foot percussion. His songs are based in a variety of root music, including blues, country and old-timey tunes, with some jazz, funk, and ska, too. Some songs are about daily life, some songs are surreal. Kind of like Big Bill Broonzy meets Frank Zappa.

Sharat Lin, The Peace Dancer

Sharat Lin performs the Dance of Peace that interprets passionate positive music and lyrics into inspiring movements that instill peace and joy into every heart and engage people in building inclusive community. He sees dance as a medium of playful resilience, healing, and liberation. He is perhaps best known as the Bay Area's dancing butterfly. He has danced in many art spaces, on stages, at festivals and farmers' markets, parades, marches, parks, monuments, community centers, libraries, BART stations, airports, and malls. He invites audiences to join in dancing, movement, or simply making rhythms. Sharat Lin is a dancer, artist, community activist, discoverer, writer, lecturer, and photojournalist in San José.

Sean Biggar

Sean Biggar is a multi-talented musician with a gift for crafting melancholic blues and soulful country western waltzes. Coming from the San Francisco Bay Area, his live performances are a testament to his ability to infuse every note with raw emotion, creating an atmosphere that resonates deeply with the audience. The energy in the room during his bluegrass ramblings is nothing short of captivating, as Sean pours his heart and soul into each performance. He creates a dynamic experience that lingers in the hearts of those in attendance. He has been following the road map left behind by his influences: John Prine, Merle Haggard, Jimmy Dean, Norman Blake, and Willie Nelson.

Justin Hoffman

Justin Hoffman is a musician and rapper from South San José who performs under the stage name Young Hoff. As a recovering alcoholic, he channels those experiences, struggles, and passion into this music. He wants to show people, through art and music, the beauty and realness of our lives from the perspective of an artist in recovery. And he hopes his music will connect with those suffering in silence, to let them know they are not alone, that they have someone in their corner rooting for them and believing in their ability to find sobriety.

Sorin Vibee

Versatile, soulful, and into affirmation vibes, Sorin Vibee is a singer, songwriter, poet, and multifaceted artist. Performing is healing and uplifting not only for her but for those who are really listening. Endlessly transitioning and seeking, she offers much peace and many blessings.

David Worm and the OneVoice Circlesingers

Circle singing is a participatory form of community singing that emphasizes improvisation and collaboration. It involves a group of singers, typically arranged in a circle, who spontaneously create music together. A facilitator usually starts by improvising a musical line and then teaching it to one section of the circle. Other sections of the circle then add their own improvisational parts, creating a new, spontaneous song. Circlesinging is a “mistake-free zone”—everyone is welcome.

David Worm and the OneVoice Circlesingers will facilitate this special Make Music Day session. David Worm leads several circles in the Bay Area. He learned the craft working with Bobby McFarrin and continues to collaborate with him to expand the circles.
