The Commons is an experiment in classical arts performance with the idea of “Classical Culture, Out of Context.” Dedicated to supporting Bay Area performers and artists, the Commons stages their showcase events in public spaces, utilizing theatrical design in order to create an immersive environment that is unlike any concert hall or opera house.

This showcase in the Circle of Palms (in front of SJMA) will feature an eclectic lineup of performers from around the Bay Area: ContainHer (melodic synthpop, San Jose), Isaiah Pekary (violinist, East Palo Alto), Grace-Anne Powers and Austin Moholt-Siebert (ballet, San Jose), and a special performance by the twenty-piece San Jose Jazz ensemble the High School All-Stars (jazz big band, San Jose). “Mighty” Mike McGee, “standup poet” will host the event.
