Featuring Mild Monk and n@p_t1m:3

In the realm of astrology, a Saturn return is known as a significant event occurring roughly every 29.5 years when Saturn returns to the exact zodiac position it occupied at one's birth. This cosmic checkpoint acts as a critical reflection point aimed at embracing change, taking accountability, and deepening our relationships. Through animated projection mapping, spatial installation, and a layered performance of original songs written during this exact phase of life, Mild Monk and n@p_t1m:3 come together to demonstrate this cathartic and meaningful transition.

Performers: Henry Stein, Noe Naranjo Arias, Phin Nguyen, and Aaron Pelaez.

Mild Monk

Mild Monk is the solo project of Chinese American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Henry Stein. After picking up guitar in 2016, Stein went from making music on an iPhone to eventually building out an entire studio full of analog gear and learning drums, bass, and piano, slowly teaching himself the art of recording, writing, and producing music. As a child of the internet age, Stein’s musical tastes consequently reaches deep into the corners of the web, from Japanese City Pop to Brazilian Bossa Nova, and everything in between. Though experimentation is a common thread in the Mild Monk discography, there is still a cohesion that reveals itself through sincerity and care for every song and sound. Though transplanted to the Bay Area in 2018, Stein still holds his Connecticut roots and early childhood in China and Taiwan close to heart, letting it inform the project's inner and outer significance. Which, in a full circle moment, has led Stein to his most personal album to date: "Comets,” a title chosen based on the comet's significance and connection to the creation of the universe.

n@p_t1m:3

n@p_t1m:3 is an art collective playing with the potential of pixel and light. Composed of Phin Nguyen, Aaron Peleaz, and Noe Naranjo Arias, the group creates contemporary works that merge motion graphics with immersive installation and performance. Their practice radiates into a spatial interface that converges digital and physical elements into luminous experiences.

n@p_t1m:3 has presented work at San José State University, Anno Domini Gallery, Works/San José, and the San José Museum of Art.
