Celebrate El Día de Los Muertos with a wide variety of multigenerational activities: hands-on art-making, live music, dance performances, storytelling, and an eclectic mix of artistic experiences. SJMA combines the traditional with the modern for truly intracultural festivities. 

Live entertainment includes performances by Aztec dancers Calpulli Tonalehqueh, storyteller Olga Loya, and Mariachi San Jose. Cultural displays and demonstrations include traditional ofrendas;(altars) by Phyllis Carrasco and Lissa Jones, seven-foot-tall Catrina dolls by Daniel Martinez, roaming Calaca (skull) performers, and clay flute creations by Xavier Quijas Yxayotl. Hands-on art-making activities for all ages include decorating calaveras de azucar (sugar skulls) with sequins, feathers, and colorful foil. Admission is free.
