Art 101: Woodblock Printing

1–4 PM
Registration is $30 ($15 for members), which includes all materials

Tabaimo, whose work is featured in the exhibition Tabaimo: Her Room, is influenced by traditional Japanese art forms, including ukiyo-e prints. Popular between the 17th and 19th centuries, ukiyo-e featured urban characters, popular landscapes and literature, and folk tales. Each print was made from an intricately designed, hand-carved wooden block. Try your hand at this traditional technique.  Art 101 is limited to 25 participants ages 13 and up.
