Join us for a workshop exploring the world of fiber arts led by Shelby Hendricks, studio arts educator. Participants will learn embroidery techniques and experiment with unconventional materials to embellish and personalize a mixed-media painted canvas. Finished canvases can be gifted to participants' family and friends for the holidays. Through this unique Art 101 workshop, participants will discover how their creative process can be a means of mindfulness and artistic connections.
Participants of all levels of experience are welcome. All materials will be provided.
Art 101 is limited to 25 participants ages 13 and up. Space is limited and advance registration is strongly recommended.
About the Instructor
Shelby Hendricks (she/her) is a fiber artist with over 8 years of experience in art and science education. She moved from Illinois to the Bay Area in 2021. With a background in biology and anthropology, Shelby aims to impart a lasting appreciation for the natural world and the interconnection of art, science, history, and culture.
