Art 101 | Digital Mix-up: Mixed Media and Photography

Drawing inspiration from the exhibition Pao Houa Her: The Imaginative Landscape, this introductory workshop will teach you how to blend traditional art and digital techniques to create unique works of art. Led by Studio Art Educator Sam Joseph, participants will use Procreate to learn techniques like collaging, photo manipulation, and overlaying.

Art 101 is limited to 14 participants ages 13 and up. Space is limited and advance registration is strongly recommended. Participants of all experience levels are welcome. A limited number of Apple iPad tablets are available for the workshop.

About the Instructor

Sam Joseph is an interdisciplinary artist based in San José who has a love for all arts, especially in digital art, painting, and photography. He has been involved in working with students for most of his life and is always encouraging others to express themselves and share their narrative. In his own personal life, he enjoys stargazing and studying the stars in our life, as that is his main inspiration for making art. He graduated with an BA in Graphic Design at San Jose Staté University.
