Biography

San Francisco-based Todd Hido was born in Kent, Ohio in 1968. He received a B.F.A. from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in 1991, and an M.F.A. from the California College of Arts in 1996. He has had solo exhibitions at Stephen Wirtz Gallery, San Francisco; Paul Morris Gallery, New York; Carrie Secrist Gallery, Chicago; and Inman Gallery, Houston. His work has entered the collections of many public institutions such as the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Guggenheim Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. This would be the first piece by the artist to enter SJMA’s collection. (SJMA Collections Committee, 2005)
