Hung Liu
Hung Liu is a Chinese-born American contemporary artist. As a painter, Liu challenges the documentary authority of historical Chinese photographs by subjecting them to the more reflective process of painting. Liu is a two-time recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in painting, Liu also received a Lifetime Achievement Award in Printmaking from the Southern Graphics Council International in 2011. Liu is a professor emerita at Mills College, after teaching for thirty years. Liu’s work is also featured in the San José Museum of Art's digital publication 50 x 50: Stories of Visionary Artists from the Collection.
Enrique Chagoya
Enrique Chagoya is a painter and printmaker, he draws his experiences from living on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border in the late 70’s, and also in Europe in the late 90’s, Enrique Chagoya juxtaposes secular, popular, and religious symbols in order to address the ongoing cultural clash between the United States, Latin America and the world as well. Chagoya’s work is featured in San José Museum of Art’s digital publication 50 x 50: Stories of Visionary Artists from the Collection and is a professor within the Department of Art and History at Stanford University. Chagoya is a recipient of the 2021 Guggenheim Fellowship, and hopes to use his Guggenheim Fellowship to promote further dialogue with new audiences beyond traditional gallery and museum spaces.
Lance Fung
Lance Fung is a lecturer at San José State University and the chief curator for Fung Collaboratives, an organization that conceives and realizes art exhibitions around the world and its non-profit partner FC (Fung Collaboratives) Projects. Fung is currently developing a cultural village as well as Sink, an underwater exhibition about marine conservation, in Bali and a public art exhibition on the San Francisco Bay Trail that encircles the San Francisco Bay.
