Children’s Discovery Museum Common Ground: A Seat at the Table, an initiative of Children’s Discovery Museum of San José Common Ground: A Seat at the Table is a creative space that invites children and families to come together to touch, hear, see, and share the multi-faceted stories of our diverse Silicon Valley communities. Through the entry point of food and cooking objects with origins in immigrant communities, this pop-up visual and performing arts installation engages participants in creating sculptures and contributing to a community poem. Common Ground: A Seat at the Table travels from site-to-site for six engagements starting June 2, 2018. Join us for this multi-sensory creative experience that features performances by local artists and engages participants in creating food sculptures, sparking conversations, and building community poems. On June 2 from 11 am to 4 pm, Common Ground: A Seat at the Table takes place at Children’s Discovery Museum, outdoor in Bill’s Backyard. Featured artists include local San José poets Vuong Vu, Rachelle Escamilla, Pushpa MacFarlane, and the Able2Shine performance group.
