Robert Arneson’s Five Times for Harvey (1988), a powerful tribute to the late gay rights activist Harvey Milk, is a highlight of SJMA’s exhibition Rise Up! Social Justice in Art from the Collection of J. Michael Bewley. SJMA will screen Robert Epstein’s acclaimed 1984 documentary The Times of Harvey Milk (131 minutes), a vivid portrait of San Francisco’s historic Castro District in the 1970s.
