Lunchtime Lecture: Nomads: In Search of the American Dream

12–1 PMFree with Museum admission

In many ways, the “nomadic archive” that Ranu Mukherjee amassed for her exhibition Telling Fortunes is a record of “the American Dream.” Our aspirations and myths make the journey with us to a new locale—geographical or metaphysical. They are a vital component in our journey to find happiness and success. Scot Guenter, coordinator of American Studies at San Jose State University, will explore people’s diverse quests to realize their dreams and discuss the evolving patterns in our experience as a nation, as a state, and as Silicon Valley.

Lunchtime Lectures take place on the first Wednesday of the month at noon in the Charlotte Wendel Education Center. Visitors are welcome to bring food and beverages.
