Asian Communities and Transportation in Downtown San José

This panel examines how diasporic communities from China, Japan, and the Philippines have found their way to San José's Japantown, and how the Vietnamese community established a home in the greater Downtown area. The panel also explores bringing visibility to these communities along with opportunities to improve Downtown San José's transportation system. Professor Hien Do from San José State University will share his perspectives with an angle from his recent work on Hidden Heritages: San José's Vietnamese Legacy, joined by local leaders Trami Cron, PJ Hirabayashi, David Kim, and Wilson Tam. Presented by Move San José as part of the Downtown Transportation Plan Speaker Series.
