1–4 PM
$30 ($15 for members)

With Diana Thater’s video installations as inspiration, explore the interconnectedness of art and science through the medium of origami. How does origami relate to modern technology and space? Growing real-world applications for this ancient art of paper folding include automotive airbag design and human tissue engineering. Recently, NASA incorporated origami principles into the mechanical structures on space-bound devices. In this workshop, you will learn the intricate techniques of paper folding as you transform two-dimensional media into sculptural creations. All materials will be provided. ART 101 is limited to 25 participants ages 13 and up.
