Art 101: Black-and-White Photography Workshop

1–4 PM
Registration is $30 ($15 for members)

The exhibition Life and Labor: The Photographs of Milton Rogovin features powerful, high-contrast images of working-class Americans made during the 1970s and 1980s. Rogovin’s strong, bold point of view is matched by his equally strong photographic aesthetic. Learn the principles of black-and-white photography, including both film and digital practices, in this three-hour workshop. Artist and instructor Emilio Banuelos will teach you how to create rich texture, strong contrast, compelling lighting arrangements, and compositions with impact. Participants of all levels of experience are welcome. Bring your own digital camera; all other materials will be provided.

ART 101 is limited to 30 participants ages 13 and up. Space is limited and advance registration is strongly recommended.
