Silicon Valley Asian Pacific FilmFest Screening

7 PM

SJMA welcomes the SVAP FilmFest’s showing of Memoirs of Bjork-Geisha: From Orientalism to Incarceration, followed by a Q&A with performance artist Tina Takemoto. This event is part film screening, part performance, and part lecture. Takemoto’s experimental short films Looking for Jiro and Warning Shot explore the lives of gay Japanese American men incarcerated by the U.S. government during World War II. In Semiotics of Sab, Takemoto presents an oblique portrait of gay actor Sab Shimono. For information and tickets visit svapfilmfest.com
