The San José Museum of Art is committed to welcoming everyone to “see what you think.” Here are some discounts and programs that help make admission affordable for everyone.
Furloughed government workers
SJMA is free for furloughed government workers with valid ID.
Facebook First Fridays
The Museum is open 11am–9pm or later on the first Friday of each month. These late nights offer free admission to all exhibitions and programs from 5–9pm. Featuring access to art and artists, music, a cash bar, food, and more. This sponsorship initiative is led by the Facebook Art Department. Learn more.
Admission is just $5 (half off adult price) after 5 PM on the third Thursday of each month.
SJMA offers three free lively community days each year: El Día de los Muertos (October or November), Lunar New Year (February), and Maker Day (June). Got the Dot
SJMA is participating in Got the Dot, a new community education campaign intended to save lives by promoting organ, eye and tissue donation in partnership with local businesses. Show proof of your organ donor designation (pink dot) on your drivers’ license to receive 20% off adult admission. Blue Star Museums
|The San José Museum of Art is proud to be one of hundreds of museums nationwide to offer free admission to active military personnel from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. The free admission program is available to active-duty military and their immediate family members (military ID holder and five immediate family members). Active duty military include Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and active duty National Guard and active duty Reserve members. Discover & Go
|Discover & Go provides free museum admission to library cardholders at many libraries throughout San José and the Bay Area. To see if your library participates, and to request a free pass for up to four (4) people to SJMA, visit discoverandgo.org|
Museums for All
|Through Museums for All, SJMA is partnering with museums across the country to make sure everyone can experience the best museums have to offer, all for the lowest and most-affordable prices ever. If you have an EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) card, simply show it when you arrive to receive free admission for up to four (4) people. To find other participating museums, visit Museums4All.org|
Bank of America Museums on Us

Smithsonian Museum Day Live

Children 6 and under
Children under 6 are admitted free every day. Children’s tickets are available at the door (advance reservations not available).
