Third Thursday: Jazz and Beyond

5 – 9 PM
Tickets are $5 after 5 PM (free to members)

San Jose Jazz and San Jose Museum of Art team up on a unique event featuring music and art—it’s the perfect kickoff on Winter Fest’s first night. Museum galleries will be open from 5–9 PM, with access to all current exhibitions including The Propeller Group and Crossroads: American Scene Prints from Thomas Hart Benton to Grant Wood, at a special entrance fee of $5.

At 6 PM, our programming in the Museum’s Wendell Center begins with an interview with celebrated jazz pianist Cyrus Chestnut, who will be performing at Cafe Stritch later in the evening. We’ll fill the Museum with music by guitarist Mason Razavi at 6:30 PM, the SJZ High School All Stars U19s at 7 PM and Summer Fest 2017 Jazz Beyond hit Mino Yanci at 8 PM. You’ll even have the opportunity to try your hand at Sound Painting, using electro-conductive paints to create artworks you can actually “play.” Food and drink are available for purchase.
