Pecha Kucha Night

In a post-9/11 world, surveillance is engaged in by nearly everyone, from governmental agencies and private industry to a public armed with cellphone cameras and wearable tech. Join SJMA and Pecha Kucha San Jose for an evening of fast-paced presentations on the topic of surveillance from speakers including:

  • Tessa D'Arcangelew, leadership development manager and organizer, American Civil Liberties Union
  • Chris Garcia, curator, Computer History Museum
  • Michelle Maranowski, The Tech Museum of Innovation
  • David Schuster, San Jose State University
  • Ralph Simpson, volunteer at History San Jose and expert in cipher machines and early history of surveillance
  • Chris Treggiari, performance artist and co-creator of Eyes on Oakland
  • Ali Winston, award winning journalist with the Center for Investigative Reporting
  • Moderator: Ric Bretschneider, Pecha Kucha San Jose
