Renegade Humor (2012)

William T. Wiley continues to defy conventions in his latest creation of a limited-edition pinball machine titled Punball Machine. Wiley’s illustrations for the machine’s backsplash and playing field include comic book – like characters alongside stars and planets that recall his interest in ancient alchemists’ engravings. As its title suggests, the work engages wordplay and demonstrates the artist’s embrace of wit.

Exhibition

Renegade Humor, February 3, 2012 - July 8, 2012, New Wing, Second Floor, Central Skylight and South Metro A Galleries, San José Museum of Art.
