It's About Time: Celebrating 35 Years (2004-2005)
Although the human figure has dominated Nathan Oliveira’s work throughout his prolific career, he has maintained a parallel interest in wildlife since the 1970s. Positioned centrally on the canvas, the raptor appears perched on a limb, rendered with a few efficient, strokes of the brush. In the background, color and gesture sweep across the surface with elegant rhythm, though Oliveira omits distracting detail in an attempt to obscure time and place, emphasizing the magnificence of the bird itself.
