Bookish (2011-2012)

As a young man, Rick Arnitz was drafted into the Army and served as a radio operator. In these paintings, he used the dots and dashes of Morse Code visually to represent the attributes of the ideal Boy Scout enumerated in the titles: brave, thrifty, reverent, helpful, and obedient.
