So, Who Do You Think You Are? (2011-2012)

Completed in February 2001, 5 Minute Break features a benign version of popular video game and film character Lara Croft. Kristin Lucas’s computer-animated “Lara” is a generic, wholesome-looking redhead based on her own appearance. In the video, the animated character roams through a maze of deep, dark hallways filled with trash and old machinery. The video was produced after Lucas took a tour of the basement of the north tower of the World Trade Center where she was an artist-in-residence. Today, the work serves as a memorial to those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
