Biography

Born in 1966 in Boston, Ranu Mukherjee was educated at Massachusetts College of Art, Boston (B.F.A., Painting and Film, 1988) and the Royal College of Art, London (M.F.A., 1993). She cofounded orphan drift, and worked solely with the artist collaborative from 1994 to 2005. Her work has been featured in numerous national and international exhibitions including at the Hayward Gallery, London; Tate Modern, London; and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco. Mukherjee lives in San Francisco and is currently an associate professor in Graduate Fine Art at the California College of the Arts and a visiting professor at the San Francisco Art Institute.
