Biography

Lives and works in New York City.
Israeli-born, San Francisco-based Shirley Shor received her B.A. in Art History and Philosophy from the Tel-Aviv University, and her M.F.A. in Conceptual Information Art from San Francisco State University. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Recent shows include those at the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art; Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco; Moti Hasson Gallery, New York; and Herzliya Museum of Art, Israel. She received the 2003 Bay Area Murphy Award in the fine arts. This would be the first piece by the artist to enter San Jose Museum of Art’s collection. (SJMA Collections Committee, 2006)
