Biography

Born in Munich, Germany in 1954, Wolf studied at the North Toronto Collegiate Institute in Canada and the University of California Berkeley. In the mid-1970s he studied under Otto Steinert at the University of Essen in Germany. Living and working in China for the last decade, Wolf has published three monographs on the country – Sitting in China (2002), China im Wandel (China in Transition) (2001), and Hong Kong: Front Door/Back Door (2005). These would be the first two works by Wolf to enter SJMA’s permanent collection. (SJMA Collections Committee, 2005)
