Biography

Kate Jordahl was born in Summit, New Jersey in 1959. She studied Art and Art History at University of Delaware in the Honors Program and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Distinction, Magna Cum Laude in 1980. She completed her Master of Fine Arts degree in Photography at Ohio University in 1982, receiving a scholarship and a teaching associate.

Currently, Kate Jordahl is a San Francisco Area photographer and teacher. Kate is a professor of Photography and Digital Imaging at Foothill College, Los Altos Hills and also co-coordinates the PhotoCentral Program in Hayward, California.


Kate Jordahl's work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, including the

Kate was an Artist-in-Residence for Yosemite National Park in 1993. Her work was chosen for The Friends of Photography Collector's Print Program in 1994.


Kate Jordahl's photographs are is in numerous collections including the Bibliothéque Nationale de France, Paris, Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Santa Barbara, California, University of Texas at Dallas, Texas and the Yosemite Museum, Yosemite.
