Born in San Francisco, CA. U.S.A. of French parents, Jeanne Aurel-Schneider has lived most of life in the San Francisco Bay Area. This is where she was educated, married and reared a family of four children. Her undergraduate degree is from Mills College, Oakland, CA; her Master's degree is from San Jose State University. She started exhibiting widely in l973, after receiving her Master's degree in Painting.
In l976 she founded the San Jose Museum Art School, specializing in Children's art.
In l996 Jeanne Aurel-Schneider pursued her French roots by establishing her studio and home in Southwest France, where she lives with her husband, the greater part of the year.
Her work can be found in public and private collections in the United States, France, Germany, and Australia.
