The Director's Council is SJMA's premier patron group. Council membership is essential to the continued success of the Museum's exhibitions, acquisitions, and education programs. Each year we offer Council members indispensable events and activities that deepen your knowledge and understanding of contemporary art in unexpected and surprising ways. Council membership as a whole is comprised of a diverse group of fun and fascinating people who enjoy each other's company.
Joining this distinguished group offers you all of the benefits of the Council of 100, plus you will:
- Receive invitations to private in-home events and visits to the Bay Area's best private collections;
- Join SJMA's executive director on an international or domestic tour designed exclusively for Director's Council donors. Previous destinations have included Germany, Spain, New York, and Dallas;
- Enjoy day trips to Bay Area cultural institutions and artists' studios;
- Receive priority consideration for the Museum facility's rentals for select private events.
